Porsche 911 Turbo crowned World Performance Car of the Year

30/4/2021

Porsche 911 Turbo has been voted the '2021 World Performance Car of the Year' by the World Car Awards jury panel made up of 93 journalists from 28 countries.

Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, Vice President Model Line 911 and 718 said, “We could not be more excited to accept this award, which represents the eighth instance of Porsche winning a World Car Awards title. The 911 Turbo S is the peak of performance and luxury from Porsche, a fact this recognition underscores. With the new generation 992, we continue to push the boundaries.”

The 911 Turbo and 911 Turbo Cabriolet continues the Porsche philosophy of combining phenomenal performance with comfortable and everyday usability.

The flat-six horizontally opposed engine with VTG twin-turbo provides 580PS, pairing this with the redeveloped 8-speed PDK gearbox, the new 911 Turbo models will reach 0-62mph in 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 199mph. When you add in the timeless design, contemporary style and everyday usability – it’s easy to see how the 911 Turbo is a homage to the original 930 Turbo.

Porsche 911 Turbo models WLTP combined fuel consumption 22.6 - 23.5mpg, WLTP CO₂ combined emissions 284 – 271 g/km
