Victories for the Porsche Taycan 4S Cross Turismo and Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid in their categories of the What Car? Electric Car of the Year Awards.
For the third year running. The all-electric Taycan has been named ‘Electric Performance Car of the Year’ and the Panamera E-Hybrid has been named ‘Plug-In Hybrid Performance Car of the Year’. Along with this, the Taycan has won the inaugural ‘Best Used Electric Performance Car’ category. This highlights that the Taycan’s great qualities also apply when buying a pre-owned model.
When choosing the Taycan as Electric Performance Car of the Year, the writers commented that “for sheer driver appeal. The Taycan Cross Turismo outclasses all of its rivals – not just the electric ones. Plus, its estate car shape, slightly elevated driving position and ability to tackle uneven Tarmac with incredible fluidity make it one of the most usable performance cars you can buy.” In addition to this, the Taycan was also recognised as having “more second-hand examples for you to chose from, giving it the edge as a used buy.”
The Panamera 4 E-Hybrid offers the benefits of electric driving together with the convenience of a turbocharged V6 engine. Therefore, when presenting the Panamera with the ‘Plug-In Hybrid Performance Car of the Year’ award, the magazine added “ A welcome side-effect of its electrification is searing acceleration. And because you don’t need such a big engine to achieve this, there’s less eight upfront, and the car feels keener to turn into corners.”

For Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) range and Equivalent All Electric Range (EAER) figures are determined with the battery fully charged, using a combination of both battery power and fuel.
Values are provided for comparison only. To the extent that fuel and energy consumption or CO₂ values are given as ranges, these do not relate to a single, individual car and do not constitute part of the offer. Optional features and accessories can change relevant vehicle parameters such as weight, rolling resistance and aerodynamics which may result in a change in fuel or energy consumption and CO₂ values. Vehicle loading, topography, weather and traffic conditions, as well as individual driving styles, can all affect the actual fuel consumption, energy consumption, electrical range, and CO₂ emissions of a car.
